Furthermore, securities in your account are held with our brokerage partner Alpaca and protected up to $500,000. For details, please see www.sipc.org. Quantbase also offers cryptocurrency portfolios -- cryptocurrencies are not stocks and your cryptocurrency investments are not protected by either FDIC or SIPC. Risk Score Calculation
Risk scores are calculated using a variety of quantitative and qualitative factors. They incorporate each fund's historical volatility and drawdown periods, as well as asset class, term, and market concentration risk.
Note: Backtests do not incorporate Quantbase's management fees. Hypothetical performance results shown on this page are a result of backtests. They do not show the performance of the pertinent fund managed by Quantbase, but rather showcases the performance of retroactively applying the algorithm to the past – this comes with the algorithm creators’ benefit of hindsight. The backtest performance is hypothetical and does not represent the results of any actual trading done in the fund by Quantbase or clients, or the decisions made by Quantbase, the clients, or the algorithm in this period. The performance of any investment strategy in the given period differs from the backtested performance for each reason described below, including without limitation the following: Although Quantbase may consider from time to time one or more of the factors noted herein in managing any account, it may not consider all or any of such factors. Quantbase may (and will) from time to time consider factors in addition to those noted herein in managing any account. Quantbase rebalance an account more frequently or less frequently than annually and at times other than presented herein. The hypothetical backtested performance results assume full investment, whereas an account managed by Quantbase may have a positive cash position upon rebalance. Had the hypothetical backtested performance results included a positive cash position, the results would have been different and generally would have been lower. The hypothetical backtested performance results for each strategy include estimated values for transaction costs of buying and selling securities, which may not be accurate. Investment management fees (including without limitation management fees and performance fees), custody and other costs, and taxes – all of which would be incurred by an investor in any account managed by Quantbase are not included in performance results. If such costs and fees were reflected, the hypothetical backtested performance results would be lower. The hypothetical performance does not reflect the reinvestment of dividends and distributions therefrom, interest, capital gains and withholding taxes. Accounts managed by Quantbase are subject to additions and redemptions of assets under management, which may positively or negatively affect performance depending generally upon the timing of such events in relation to the market’s direction. Simulated returns may be dependent on the market and economic conditions that existed during the period. Future market or economic conditions can adversely affect the returns.
Backtest methodology varies per portfolio. Unless otherwise stated, backtest data is sourced/executed at market end-of-day prices, and does not account for slippage or strategy capacity. In the case of trading in investment vehicles like ETFs, that incorporate their own management fees, our backtests account for these fees. In the case of assets that involve a transaction fee/commission per trade, our backtests account for these fees.
Single-Index Leveraged In and Out
Please note, this fund was backtested with a triple-leveraged version of the SPY ETF (which tracks the S&P 500), rather than using the UPRO 3X S&P ETF. This decision was put in place to show a longer backtest history, as the UPRO ETF was launched in June 2009, much later than the SPY ETF.
Dalio's All Weather Porfolio
This fund was backtested with the TLT ETF instead of VGLT for long-term treasury tracking, and GLD instead of IAU for tracking gold. This is because the former ETFs (TLT and GLD) have a longer track record for backtesting, while the latter (VGLT and IAU) have lower fees at the time of this writing.
